چکیده

Abstract The present study focusses on optimising a single supported excavation pit to achieve more economical design using finite element analyses. Two methods for automating the derivation of pit’s necessary embedment depth are presented, which involve either reduction additional calculation phases or adapting entire model with renewed discretisation. bending moments as well earth pressure distribution along wall show good agreement, indicating that both suitable application. Subsequently, feasibility optimisation algorithms (Particle Swarm Optimisation and Differential Evolution) dimensioning regarding stress analysis is investigated. Therefore, position strut varied five different sheet pile walls three profiles. results demonstrate perform well, particularly higher number steps. After varying iteration steps population size, Evolution approach shows better performance compared Particle by means finding optimal solution after lower computational

Design and Optimisation of Pacemaker Electrode using Finite Element Method

The optimised design and simulation of a pacemaker electrode has been presented in this paper for modelling of current distribution in human heart using Finite Element Method. The pacemaker electrode is placed inside the heart and helps to keep a normal rhythmic activity of the patient’s heart. This model deals with the current and potential distribution around the pacemaker electrode and study...

an investigation on seismic design indicators of rc columns using finite element analyses

the main cause of structural damage in buildings subjected to seismic actions is lateral drift. in almost all reinforced concrete (rc) structures, whether designed with walls or frames, it is likely to be the code drift limits that control the design drift. the design drift limits and their contribution to damage may be represented indirectly through the material strain limits. the aim of this ...

buckling of viscoelastic composite plates using the finite strip method

Optimal Design of Sandwich Panels Using Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm and Finite Element Method

Low weight and high load capacity are remarkable advantages of sandwich panels with corrugated core, which make them more considerable by engineering structure designers. It’s important to consider the limitations such as yielding and buckling as design constraints for optimal design of these panels. In this paper, multi-objective optimization of sandwich panels with corrugated core is carried ...
